Stan Lee Podcast
Modified: 4/17/2008 10:58:07 AM
Otaku USA has an interview with Stan Lee on ULTIMO, his new manga collaboration with Hiroyuki Takei (mangaka of Shaman King).

I'll be attending the special VIZ Media panel tomorrow at the NY Comic Con where Viz promises some exciting news about this collaboration will be announced.

Karakuridoji Ultimo Launched April 18th
Modified: 4/6/2008 2:12:07 PM
Shaman King manga creator, Hiroyuki Takei, has teamed up with Stan Lee to release a 32-page prologue story for their collaboration, Karakuridoji Ultimo. The story will debut in Viz Media's Jump SQ. II in Japan this month. According to ICv2 News:

"Ultimo is one of two mysterious floating figures who appear over Farmless City, stunning the citizens below. The other is the apparently evil Vice, and a battle between the two ensues, causing destruction and devastation to fall on the city. The Ultimo story tells the mystery of the two figures, their origin, and who they really are."

You can enter for a chance to win 1 of 10 autographed copies of the prologue on the Shonen Jump website by 4/11/2008.

Shaman King Manga Gets a Real Ending
Modified: 2/6/2008 3:11:01 PM
Japanese publisher Shueisha has announced that it will be republishing all the Shaman King manga in Japan starting in March 2008. The manga will be condensed from its current run of 32 volumes to 27 volumes. No, they aren't cutting anything out, there will just be more chapters per volume, and they expect to publish 2 manga per month. The new releases will contain "Oversoul covers" (transparent plastic slipcovers) with new color illustrations by mangaka, Hiroyuki Takei.

Even better news - Takei will contribute a real ending to the manga which should wrap things up! That still means we have to wait until Spring 2009 for the Japanese release and who knows how long for Viz to translate it...

For those keeping up with Viz's North American releases, they're currently on 14 of 32 and the manga come out bimonthly.

Modified: 3/12/2006 10:20:07 PM
Sorry for all the weird web problems recently. My previous host kept going down so I switched web hots last week. I fixed the broken images and stuff today, so I hope everything is back to normal.
